The stars seemed not so far away, for a silhouette of shattered dreams and broken lovers’ ripping seams.
Heinous crimes have been committed
but arsenic itself has been acquitted, and with the sigh of morning death
the stars themselves have lack of breath,
but the lilies sing a mourning song
of soaring battles and heroes gone and daisies gather round to hear
the tales of men and lacking fear.
And what memories remain to kill,
